Anyway: I have realized that some of the audio is skewed on the video in these releases. It's possible that it's all the files, or just a few. Regardless, this has angered me: people need to learn to check, recheck, and if need be, re-rip. It's not that hard. I just can't stand improper releases. (Reminder: this is not my release--I simply forwarded the torrent file to this site.)
I have found a friend with an original retail DVD box set which I can borrow. The question is whether I should bother making a post here, especially if demand is down for this series. Let me know if anyone is interested. I'm considering ripping either DVD9->DVD9, DVD9->DVD5, and/or DVD-DivX/XviD, assuming I can get some quality software to do episodic discs with ease.
Formula 1 - 1978 to 2015 Mega Torrent Update
Ok, Happy Christmas everyone. My gift to you is the updated torrent now including seasons 1978-2015 with MORE races in english and MORE in HD!!!
Apologize for the wall of text but PLEASE READ. I did make some changes to try to improve stability and make it compatible with more clients. The main limitation is the number of pieces. I have increased the piece size so the number of pieces should be much lower, but we did add more races and the torrent is still fairly huge. As I learn more about torrents and as I try a different seeding strategy with this year I may consider splitting the torrent for next year, but I would like to avoid that if possible. I like having one archive that everyone can reference as it keep the community together.
This adds the 2015 season as well as fixes a few issues with older races. If you were previously using the 'Formula 1 - 1978 to 2014' torrent then to make this work and keep the torrent as well seeded as possible I have some VERY SPECIFIC instructions you must follow.
First, remove the torrent from your torrent client (Even if you are part way through downloading something, you will not lose your data, unless it is one of the races being updated).
Second, rename the main folder from 'Formula 1 - 1978 to 2014' to 'Formula 1 - 1978 to 2015'. It is important that you get the name correct. You no longer need to have a folder inside a folder named 'Formula 1 - 1978 to 2014'. The path should now look like '~/Formula 1 - 1978 to 2015/Season 1978…' vice '~/Formula 1 - 1978 to 2014/Formula 1 - 1978 to 2014/Season 1978…' like it used to. That always annoyed me. I apologize.
Third, delete the files for the following seasons:
Season 1987
Season 1988
Season 1989

These will be re-downloaded in higher quality copies and with more english commentary. Some is ESPN but some is Murray Walker and James Hunt. Season 1987 is still not completely english, and I am still looking for sources on a few races if anyone has any.
Fourth, delete the files for the following specific races:

Formula 1 - s2011e19 - Brazilian Grand Prix
2013:
Formula 1 - s2013e01 Australian Grand Prix 720p
Formula 1 - s2013e04 Bahrain Grand Prix 720p
Formula 1 - s2013e06 Monaco Grand Prix 720p
Formula 1 - s2013e10 Hungarian Grand Prix
These are being replaced with higher quality versions and add the pre-race show with grid walk to some of the races.
Removed: Fifth, Rename 'Formula 1 - s2008e05 - Spanish Grand Prix' to 'Formula 1 - s2008e05 - Turkish Grand Prix' Apparently the name change didn't make it into the final torrent. Ill fix it later or just wait till next year.
This was just a mis-naming in the original compilation.
Lastly add the new torrent file to your torrent client. Some clients will automatically verify the data you already have and some you will need to tell it to 'Check Local Data' or a similar command. This part may take a while depending on how much of the torrent you have downloaded. This process checks what you already have downloaded. Because many of the files are the same, you should have a similar completion percentage, it will just add the new/updated items. That being said, be aware this is a 1.25TB torrent if you download the whole thing. If you cannot fit all that on a HDD you can still download and seed parts of it or certain years.

In order to keep this torrent alive it is imperative that as many people as we can reach switch over to this new torrent. This is the second year, but last year went well and I want to update it every year and continue improving the collection for the whole community. That being said I am still actively looking for more English commentaries on races from 1987 and before so I can incorporate them next year. I am also looking for another copy of the 2009 Malaysian GP, 2011 Brazilian and 1991 Brazil, Canada and Mexico as the current copies have some quality issues. I have not watched all of these races so if you find any other issues, please alert me via PM.

I am using a seedbox this year so it should be much faster to get on the same track with the new races. If the 1987, 1988 and new parts of 2013 don't get completed right away, don't fear. I am away from home for the holidays and haven't finished uploading those to the seedbox. But you can all get started on 2015, because its kind of huge. 720p50fps takes up a lot of disk space.
